Skin ageing caused by systematic sun exposure, facial blemishes due to excessive pigmentation and, in general, imperfections caused by melanin, are more and more common problems today… “Dark blemishes”, especially on hands and face, are one of the greatest aesthetic concerns of modern men and women…It will only be possible to remove the anti-aesthetic skin blemishes and recover the smoothness of the skin, bringing back its luminosity, with a treatment that has a direct effect on the intimate formation process of the pigment (melanin).
The Cosmelan® Depigmentation treatment offers a series of major advantages and benefits compared with other types of depigmentation products found in the market:
Cosmelan can be used on all skin types, in both men and women. It improves the appearance of pigmentation in certain types of scars, acne and freckles, inflammatory hyper-pigmentation and most successfully in pigmentation due to excessive sun exposure and hormonal fluctuations.
We determine the type of pigmentation by thorough skin analysis and base the recommended treatment on your pigmentation history. A mild cleanser is used to cleanse the skin, before a superficial peeling agent is applied for optimised penetration of the product. A degreasing solution rounds off the preparation. The treatment is done in two stages. Firstly, a depigmentation mask is applied with which the patient goes home. Your practitioner will instruct you as to how long this stays on. The second part consists of home care, where the patient applies the provided products twice daily for a three-month period.
You can expect a significant drying and peeling of the skin over the next three to four days after which, a noticeable improvement of the skin is observed. A reduction of brown patches is detected and the skin appears luminous, revived, fresh and smooth.
Mild to severe peeling, redness, slight scabbing and sensitivity to the sun is normal in the first few days after the treatment. Some patients experience dryness, tightness, soreness and itching for up to two weeks after the initial treatment. Patient s suffering from recurrent herpes infections may have a recurrence of cold sores.
